About

Welcome to TeacherHacks! This site will bring you “hacks” to make teaching (and everything else you do at school) easier.

What’s a hack? A hack has been called “a clever solution to an interesting problem.” It’s been referred to as “a clever shortcut or a lesser-known, faster way to get something done.” Despite the sometimes evil connotation related to calling someone a hacker, hackers are also “innovators who explore and experiment, unearth shortcuts, create useful tools, and come up with fun things to try on their own.”

What’s a teacher hack? Based on these definitions of a hack, a teacher hack is a clever solution to a problem a teacher might have. It’s a clever shortcut or lesser-known, faster way to get something done for your school, your classroom, your students, or yourself.

We aim to collect tips, tools, ideas, work-arounds, shortcuts and anything else to help teachers do their jobs better.

Teaching is hard work and time is limited (even if your principal doesn’t know that). Anything you can do to save time, effort, or sanity is a good thing.

We know what your goal is: to teach kids. Our goal is to help you reach your goal faster and easier. Let’s get started!
